Land of the Midnight Sun & Lofoten Islands
If you’ve dreamt of experiencing Scandinavia’s Land of the Midnight Sun, our guided vacation in Norway can make your dreams come true. Your adventure begins in Oslo, home of the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony. Go sightseeing with an expert Local Guide to see the National Theater (home of Henrik Ibsen’s plays), Parliament and the Royal Palace, as well as the magnificent display of Gustav Vigeland’s sculptures in Frogner Park. Your exciting journey to the Lofoten Islands takes to the air with a flight across the Arctic Circle to Alta. After dinner in Honningsvåg, embark on your excursion to the North Cape’s sheer 1,000-foot cliff above the Atlantic Ocean. You’ll also take ferry crossings on the Lyngenfjord and Ullsfjord in view of the Lyngen Alps.
In exploring the islands and picturesque fishing villages, with visits to Tromsø, Harstad, and Svolvær, you’ll learn about the history of this magical region before beginning your excursion to the Lofoten archipelago. You’ll be amazed by the islands’ naturally exquisite beauty, complete with mountain peaks, open sea, sheltered bays, and crystal waters. Also of interest is the history and preserved architecture and artifacts of the fishing heritage here – enjoy a visit to Lofoten Museum in its authentic 19th-century setting. This mystical part of the world, particularly Henningsvær, is prized by artists for its picture-postcard views, hence its art galleries. After exploring the fascinating and stunning scenes on the Lofoten Islands, you’ll then take a ferry across the Vestfjord to mainland Norway. As you fly back to Oslo for your farewell dinner to celebrate your Norway vacation, we know you’ll carry your days in the Land of the Midnight Sun with you always.

It is visible (weather conditions permitting) at the North Cape from mid-May to the end of July. Tours visiting the North Cape in August will have a chance to witness the sunset. Summer temperatures in the Arctic region can reach as high as 25°C and as low as 8°C.It is recommended to wear a combination of lightweight and warm clothing, wind- and waterproof outer layers, and good walking shoes or mountain boots.
